Rural Outreach and Mentorship Initiative Program
Published: October 4, 2021
The Rural Outreach and Mentorship Initiative program is run through the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada and aims to provide mentorship to high school students from rural areas about the transition to post-secondary and careers in medicine by connecting them with medical students from across Canada.
We are looking for students interested in becoming a mentor. The minimum monthly commitment for mentors is 2 hours and the program would run from mid-October to the end of May. Students are not required to identify as rural to become a mentor in the program, although it is encouraged to help facilitate a stronger mentorship connection between mentors and mentees. Please reach out to romi.mentorship@gmail.com if you have any questions about the program and we would be happy to answer any questions individual students might have! |
